The chopsticks (Hashi) have a natural beautiful wood grain and glossy color. They are dried naturally, to produce a close-grained, naturally water resistant wood, which helps to prevent mold.
Kirishima Tsuga (Southern Japanese hemlock) expresses solidity and greatness. Because of its slow growth, the grain is fine and beautiful. The wood becomes stronger when dried.
